SOAL-2522

Read the passage below. In a fictional classroom project, students compared two ways of learning new words. Group A studied a list with translations, while Group B read short passages containing the same target words. Each group had twelve volunteers. Students chose their own group, and both groups studied for twenty minutes. The next day, all students took the same quiz. Group B had a higher average score. Some students concluded that reading passages was always the better method. Their teacher noted two limitations. First, students had selected their groups, so the groups might have differed in motivation or earlier reading experience. Second, the quiz was given only one day later; the project did not measure how well words were remembered after several weeks. The teacher suggested repeating the project with random group assignment, a larger sample, and delayed quizzes. She did not dismiss the observed score difference. Instead, she explained that a promising observation should lead to a stronger test before it becomes a general rule about all learners. How does the teacher respond to the higher Group B score?
